Paintball Tank Protection 101

The Ninja Paintball Universal Tank Cover

Your High Pressure Air (HPA) tank can last for years and work great with minimal upkeep.  But, you must keep them protected in order for them to work properly; even a tiny dent can force you to retire your tank.

As you may know, tanks are typically made from two different types of material: metal or carbon fiber.  Metal tanks are known for durability and usually do not need a cover, though it is always wise to be on the safe side.  As for our favorite, carbon fiber tank, you may want to consider some cushion on the outside to protect it from any damage.  A naked carbon fiber tank can easily become scratched during play, or even worse, dented and could make it unsafe to use on the field.  As a precaution, you should never use a tank that has any deep scratches, dents or bare threads.

Since your compressed-air paintball tank is super important for playing and battling it out on the field, you want to protect it with your life – well, kinda.  Since these types of tanks are fragile, they should at least be protected with some sort of padded barrel cover at all times.  The damages made could cause the bonnet to not sit properly and cause pressure loss, or even worse, air leaks.  Using some sort of cover will keep you at ease and you will never have to worry about the scratches, dents and exposing threads.

There are several options out there to protect your tank, take these into consideration:

  • Try out a CP thread saver and then cover the tank with a black sock, a cheaper and semi-efficient protective barrier
  • You could tape the tank to prevent it from slipping
  • Or you could check out a tank cover.  The Ninja Universal Tank Cover is a great product to try out, and you won’t be disappointed you did!

Be sure to check out our website, www.hustlepaintball.com, to find all of your tank protection needs.  You won’t want to miss out on all the amazing deals and steals we have for your ‘protection needs’.

Your Paintball Checklist

New to the paintball scene?  Don’t worry; we are going to provide you with a pre-paintball game checklist to make sure you know exactly what to bring with you to the field.  You will definitely want to try and take everything you can to a tournament.  The last thing that you will want is to show up without all the essentials.  Print this page and check it off while you pack.

And you may want to bring any of these miscellaneous items, just to cover your bases:

  • Towels for wiping paint or sweat
  • First-Aid Kit – you never know…
  • Camera
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • Something to drink
  • Garbage Bags

Pretty sure that just about covers everything.  Make sure to check out our website where you can find all of your paintball gear, supplies and equipment needs; all in one place – www.hustlepaintball.com Oh, and don’t forget to ‘like’ us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our YouTube Channel where you will find all of the latest happenings, videos and excitement from the Hustle Paintball team.

What makes us Hustle Paintball

Hey everyone.

It is time for another blog; this time I would like to touch on something a little more serious as well as a little more near and dear to our hearts. We are really starting to build up some customer loyalty, which believe me – ALL OF US appreciate. We love talking to you guys on the phone and really helping you out with your gear.

However, a few of you loyal customers have been dealing with an issue as of late and are asking, “what gives?!”. The issue I speak of is the fact that often when people place orders things are out of stock, or there is a wait of sorts before we can get it to you. We’ve gotten blunt yet reasonable questions like “Hey guys, I love shopping with you, but how come nothing is ever in stock?” –

Just a statement is all.

We will forever stand by this motto.

As players ourselves, we can understand how frustrating it can be to have to wait for your gear, especially when a tourney or scenario game is right around the corner… or you’re just excited for your gear and YOU WANT IT NOW!

That is why I kind of wanted to hit this issue straight ahead, we want to be perfectly transparent with you all. The reason for this, is because we are a small company (5 total employees), with even smaller pockets. Our entire catalog of items that we carry and sell is well over 10,000 items. If we had the cashflow to be able to keep all 10,000+ items in stock at all times, of course we would absolutely love to! Unfortunately this is just not the case, so what we have to do is keep the highest selling items in stock at all times and do our best to be proactive on the other items in our catalog.

Now, what we provide in lieu of this, is the absolute best top-notch customer service for any retailer in the business. You may have to wait a week for an item to ship, if so, we will call you within one business day of your order and let you know what is going on, or if we have any available alternatives to go with. In a lot of cases, our representatives will give you a FREE UPGRADE to a BETTER item that we DO HAVE IN STOCK. Beyond that, when the item does ship out, we actually have your back. If the item gets damaged in transit, or even lost, Hustle Paintball has your back. We will take care of you and make sure you get your equipment, and this is at no extra hassle to you. It is because we care, because we are ballers ourselves.

That is really the biggest advantage you have with shopping with Hustle Paintball. Every single one of us is a paintballer. We go out every weekend, we shoot and work on these markers, and use all of this equipment ourselves. Ask us a question? Get a real answer. We do not shoehorn you into the item we have the most of in stock that we need to get rid of. When you ask us a question or go to us for our opinion that is what you get.

Just the Hustle Crew, you know how they do.

Sorry Josh, you’re not real right now.

Really, what we all wanted you guys to know is that when you shop with us, you are helping put food on the table for five people and their families. We are not a large company, and we are not looking to maximize profits and increase our wallet size at the cost of your time and well-being. We are paintballers who want to increase the size of this sport, while also providing two great platforms to do so. Our YouTube channel is meant to be an honest, informed channel with all videos from installation to review, and fun & games :). pbRIOT.com is a continually growing community for all paintballers new and old that is welcoming and not abrasive.

So, why don’t you all join the revolution and stop letting stores put their blame on you for a shipping mistake, or tell you that you are S.O.L. because your package was stolen off of your front door. Insist on excellent customer service, and supporting other ballers! Make a statement, and join the RIOT against the Speedball/Woodsball debate – it is all paintball, let’s just enjoy this sport together!

State of the Paint! Issues with paintbullets abound.

Well, at least we are getting another blog up and it isn’t taking a month.. or two.

With that said, we here at Hustle Paintball have something to gripe about. Paintballs! As you all know, we are not just a retailer, we are players too. Because of this we are very big activists on only stocking and selling good paint. The problem with this is that it is difficult to find a brand of paint that is consistently reliable. We have been trying all kinds of paint lately and needless to say we just have not had the results that we are looking for. I mean, we have gone through boxes of paint that is “brittle” that does not break worth a crap, and does not shoot straight. We have also gone through a period where an entire skid of paint was rendered pretty much useless because it stained (no, this was not generic brand paint).

The thing is, we are not just looking for one factor. We here like to stock two types of paint – one mid-grade paint at $39.99 with a thick enough shell for un-regulated blowback style markers. As well as one high-grade brittle paint anywhere from $45.00-55.00 depending on the case. You would think this would be simple, but the variables we are looking for just differ so much between brands!

Our faces, when we think of what used to be.

Really, I think the problem stems from the manufacturing. We have had batches of a particular kind of paint that has been absolutely godly. We have then gotten a batch of the same kind at a later time and it is some of the most awful paint we have ever used. All of you guys out there thinking in your head “Do you store it correctly? How old is it?” – We play, we run a store, we’re knowledgeable people about this stuff. The paint on our temperature controlled showroom sits at most 3 weeks before it is sold.

So, the search for paint continues. We just got in a skid from one of our manufacturers that looks quite promising. However, only time will tell if we have found the right paint or if we need to continue looking. What paint has been the most reliable for you guys? Do you seem to have this issue yourselves? What is your personal favorite paint? Let us know your thoughts in the comments! Thanks so much for reading! – Trevor

Jason’s Hustle Paintball Guest Blog – August 14th, 2012

Hey Everyone!

Yes, it has been some time since we have written a blog. Turns out we’re not as good at it as some people out there. Hopefully we can pick up a notch or two in the coming months, however until then we would like to introduce you to a new series of blogs that we will be adding to slowly over time. Guest blogging! Our first in this series has been written by Jason who was a customer first, and has since become a friend and volunteer at the shop. So, without any further ado, take it away Jason!

——————–
I’ve had some pretty terrible experiences attempting to buy paintball equipment in my local area. After going to some paintball shop in Denver and feeling like I did not get the best deal possible; I started looking for another place to buy my paintball gear. Hours of searching was done on the Internet looking up other paintball shops in the Denver area. I then found a place called Hustle Paintball. They are in an odd and difficult location it seemed at first, but being right by the Flatirons crossing mall is just the icing on top of the cake. Above all else is the customer service I received on MY VERY FIRST VIST. I must have spent well over an hour with Jay talking about all the options for paintball markers, gear, and what would work best for my family’s needs; I immediately decided that Hustle Paintball was our best bet. A week later I took my wife, our three kids, and a friend into Hustle and we walked out with four markers, four masks, and four air tanks.

Working hard or hardly working?

I was so impressed with the level of customer service we received that I knew I had to be a part of this great Colorado company in some way. I asked Ethan if I could come in and volunteer my time to help with the day to day operations at Hustle Paintball, and Ethan agreed. For the past month I have done everything from the tedious job of putting together O Ring packs, helping with shipping & receiving orders, to plumbing a refrigerator. I was also used as Russell’s “third hand” in the TPX First Strike round mod video.

I’m constantly learning new things about the game of paintball, paintball products, and how to tech my own markers. I think above all else what I have learned is that Hustle isn’t like most other companies in our area, or even the U.S. – They are taking that extra mile to make all of their customers feel as important as they truly are to them. They are transparent, friendly, helpful people that are just looking to support their community and their families. I can say without a doubt that it has been one of the greatest all around experiences I have ever had with any company.

——————–

There you have it! Our first guest blog; we hope to have more in the future as we are really working to build a community in the paintball world. What better way to build a community than for everyone to share their voices and opinions! If you would like a guest blog featured, email us at Support@HustlePaintball.com and let us know what is going on in YOUR paintball world. By no means does the blog need to be about us, or what you think of our company, it just so happens that the first guest blog was written in that way. Thanks for reading everyone, look out for more in the future!

State of the Hustle – 3/14/2012

We have expanded!

No,  seriously. We haven’t written a blog in a little while and we want to let you know what is going on in the world of Hustle. So, since January we have been coming in at 7:00 AM and leaving at 6:30 PM – With four people it is kind of tough to keep up with all the love you guys have been showing us lately (thank you for supporting your favorite retailer!) so we had to hire a new underling. Everyone say hello to Russell.

The Elusive Russell the Muscle.

Until recently Russell was just a member of Team Anomaly that packaged cookies for a living (yum!). When Ethan and I went over to D.C. for the Paintball Extravaganza we left Jay and Jeff all by themselves to handle Mon-Fri. This was smack dab in the middle of February where the four of us were having a hard time trying to keep up, let alone just two. So, we asked Russell if he would be interested in helping out throughout the week, just to help get some of the weight off of the guys. He accepted and then the gauntlet promptly started on Monday.

There was a subtle hope between the crew that Russell would succeed and be an asset to our team even with little to no training, just by having the heart we all do about our jobs. Every day Russell impressed Jeff & Jay with his drive to do well for Hustle, and desire to learn everything he could. Needless to say, after a week through the PBE onslaught Ethan and the Hustle crew felt like we found the guy who could come in, lighten the load, lighten the mood and add to Hustle’s team in a way that improves the experience not just for our team, but for you guys as well.

With Russell on the team, we are now 5. A team of 5 experienced, active paintball players that have the same love of the sport all of you do, and we have the knowledge to help you out to boot. This is a great step forward for Hustle and I’m hoping with our newest addition we can get back on track with all of the projects that we need to finish!

With that said, look forward to these things coming in the next few months.

As always – More videos! Reviews, How-To’s, Random Shenanigans, all things about our channel you have come to know and love (I hope!)

Patches! Physical Military style patches for both Hustle Paintball and pbRIOT that you guys can put on your gear and support us! (you know you want to!)

Shirts! We have found ourselves a great company to make our shirts with; I just need the time to design some shirts for you guys. Look out for a post on the RIOT in the next month or so where you guys get to vote on the shirts we get made!

And finally, I have already mentioned videos, but paintball season has officially started and we are going to be filming more paintball and posting up videos of that as well. Look out for more playing videos this summer!

That is the state of Hustle as of March 2012 – Thanks for reading everyone, you are the reason we do this.
